Help !!!!!!!!! Printing problems !!!!!!! EMERGENCY !!!!!!!!! -Reply

We have had similar problems.

We found that certain printers could not print certain reports. Peoplesoft Ben
Admin confirmation stmts are one that comes to mind, there were others
including some delivered Peoplesoft tax reports.

We print our reports thru UNIX.

The underlying problem we had:

We had several programs we do not use the PeopleSoft standard headings. (and
there are a couple of PeopleSoft programs like this). These reports had the
control codes hard coded into them. Some of them were not correct. I don't
remember which control code they were missing, I think it might have been either
maximum lines per page or page size. Printers should default ok, but some did
not. Printing to CERTAIN printers would cause the reports to print a couple of
lines then a bunch of blank pages, etc etc etc. But we could print to other
printers ok. The one which always printed ok was a QMS (non-hp) printer. This
problem went away when we upgraded to release 10.20 of HP-UX. So the
problem appears to have been in the UNIX to printer script.

Our workaround was to copy the report to the PC and print them thru DOS.

Hello !!!!

I'm working on a report and I want to print it on a HPLaserJet.
At the begining of my working, I didn't get any problem to print. ( the
problems were in my code )
Now, my code is good, but my printer drive me crazy : she print my report
without the heading, she print me almost blanks pages (only one or two words
of my reports ), it become very hard to work.

I've tried to stop my printer, to reboot my PC, ther's nothing to do.

I'm genering a .lis and a .spf file, the .spf seems to be good and when I
copy my .lis on my printer, it is apocalyptic.......

Thanks for help
