Indexes on Temp tables

Hi Listdwellers

I create a temporary table in Sybase 11+, then I create a composite index.
It works fine in sqrw and workbench,  but when I try to compile it in sqrw
it bombs say it can't create the index, however it compiles fine in
workbench.  I am using win 98 and workbench 4
