Re: Creating EXCEL files with Visual SQRIBE.?
Per,
Creating an excel file generally means delimiting the records that you're
putting out so Excel can distinguish between them. There are a few ways
of doing this, I do it by stringing a comma to each record like so....
open 'file' as 1 for writing
select your variables
string $var1 $var2 $var3 by ',' into $string1
write 1 from $string1
If this doesnt answer your query, theres lots of similar queries already
answered in the
user group archives. Theres a good search engine in there as well.

Subject: Creating EXCEL files with Visual SQRIBE.?
Hello!
I'm new on this forum and I therefore hope that I wont pose the
questions already asked "n" number of times...
However, this question must have been asked before.
I'm doing some research for a project that is not yet realized but
might be. When examining the needs of the client I found that they
need their reports in EXCEL format. I did not think this was possible
to do "directly" with the help of Visual Sqribe, but they seem to
insist on this matter. I'll find out how this is done, but would like
to know if any of You have experiences already made on this. Is there
an easy way in?
Hope You can help me even though this isn't a very precise question.
Thanks!
Per
