calling ps cobol from sqr

Here's a question that seems simple enough (?) but need a reality check:
is it recommended to make a ps cobol  call from an sqr?

The references in Galina and Vlad Landres' book cites how to do it; however,
I was not able to find any delivered sqr (v7.5 sa) that had the text 'psrun'
in it.  Any suggestions out there?
