At one place I used to work, we used SQR MOSTLY to do data moving --
updates/deletes to/from tables. We preferred Crystal Reports for a reporting
tool.

I think the person doesn't know SQR and so made a statement to discourage
you.

The key to performance in SQR is getting your SQL statements optimized. The
SQR part is just the wrapper....
