If you are using Outlook, then instead of using the 'Out of Office
Assistant' use the 'Inbox Assistant' and define an exception rule, specify
the rule effective dates (from and to, use the advanced button) and reply
using a template. Use the template to define your custom message. To define
the exception rule: specify in the To: 'Multiple recipients of list
SQR-USERS' -- this identifies all messages sent to this list (SQR-USERS).
Now click on Advanced, and check the box for: 'Only items that do not match
these conditions'. What this rule really does is, for all incoming messages
received during the specified period that do not match the specified
condition (all messages except SQR-Users group), reply using the specified
template -- which will be your out of office message!
Another way: define a rule that will automatically delete all Out Of Office
replies as soon as they are received! -- most Out of Office replies use:
'Out of Office AutoReply:' in the subject line. You can use this to define
the rule!
