I raised the prospect of an FAQ with Nathan Stratton Treadway (one of the
maintainers of this list and the sqrug web site) some time ago and he said
he would be happy to have one but hadn't had time to put one together
himself. As it turned out I haven't had time either, but if you want to
take the ball - run with it. From memory Nathan said once compiled he would
put such a document on the sqrug web site.

Search the archives for this one. It's a frequently asked question.
Probably under the key words 'CALL SYSTEM' and 'command'. The
solution involves grabbing COMSPEC to determine the proper command
shell invocation, then calling it with /C to execute the command.

On the topic of frequently asked questions, is there a convenient
place one could archive a FAQ list if there were such a thing? I'm
considering compiling a list of FAQs for the list.
I've been on the list for maybe three months, and I've seen a handful
of questions fly by more than a dozen times:
* How do you get off this list?
* How do you make a system call?
* How do you print/convert graphics?
* How do you print on both sides of the paper?
