converting *.bmp files to *.eps

Hi there,
        Can anybody out there tell me how to go about converting  *.bmp or
*.jpg files to a *.eps file.  We need to print logos on several of our
reports that will be printing on Post Script printers.  I've seen several
messages in the past about needing to use *.eps files to do this, but don't
know how to create the necessary .eps file.  Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
