Wow. Do you really get up that early?
Elm and Pine are alternative end-user electronic mail programs (and
more) that typically run under UNIX. Both are generally superior to
"mail" and "mailx".
I found this explanatory guide for Elm:

Pine is an Elm spin-off with an even easier user interface. "Pine"
stands for "Pine Is Not Elm". There's even PC-Pine for Windows.
