Since you kissed up so well, I will resist flaming your off-topic post  and
risk being flamed myself by answering -

there is no setting to change, just make sure to end your sql input file
with a carriage return - this signifies "end-of-file" to sqlplus.

In Oracle SQL Plus, what (if any) environment optons can be changed to
address the error message "input truncated to 16 characters" ?

Error occurs in a select statement.
