Re: MICR line again

We had the same problem here with our paychecks. It appears to be a common
problem called 'MICR drift' and it is caused by the printer. All printers are
just a little different in how they handle the font. Generally it is not a
problem in that the banks can still read the MICR line. When ours printed the
first couple of characters lined up perfectly in the MICR gauge but by the end
of
the line the characters were almost halfway outside of the box. We sent a
sample
to the bank (which I assume you are going to do) and they were able to read it
without any problem. They obviously allow for a 'fudge' factor. So, my
suggestion is, if it appears to line up fairly well, send a copy to the bank and
see what they say.
