Input into a variable of TYPE=DATE.

Input into a variable of TYPE=DATE.
SQR only allows the 'DD-MON-YY' format.

Is there any environment variable which can be set to a different format. (I
wish to
set it to YYYY-MM-DD)
One thing for sure NLS_DATE_FORMAT in the setup section only effects
database date columns.

Please enlighten me.
