The list is frequented by people who use SQR in a variety of
contexts, and you're right, many PeopleSoft-related questions get
posted here, including a few not even remotely related to SQR.

I've been considering for some time the possbility of splitting
the list into two parts: SQR-USERS and PS-SQR-USERS (or PS-USERS).
I'm sure that many people would subscribe to both, and I'm sure
that many people would cross-post in hopes of getting an answer
from either group. So, I'm worried that such a move would _increase_
traffic for most people, not decrease it.

My personal feeling is that we stand more to gain from one large
group than two smaller ones, and that if the amount of traffic is
tollerable, we should stick to one group. I don't do much
PeopleSoft myself (although others in my firm do plenty), but
when I take the time to read posts that are from PeopleSoft
customers about a problem they're having with SQR, I'm usually
rewarded by getting some additional insight into SQR practice,
even if it's a question about adding a report to the PS job
scheduler.

We all delete more messages than we reply to. I think this is
healthy. I think it's fair for SQR users to ask the PeopleSoft
users to show a little restraint when posting PS-related non-SQR
questions, and I think it's fair for PS users to ask a little
forebearance from the rest of us in getting their SQR-related PS
questions answered.

If things get too out of hand, then we can certainly split the
list. I'm just not sure we're there yet. In any case, I would
hate to lose SQR-USERS (PS or non-PS) over such a decision; let's
make a decision that works for both groups.
