Greetings,
Regarding my earlier posting of a question about the W2 program
TAX911FD, which takes the data from TAX910FD and formats it
into shorter records for reporting on diskette, I received a prompt
answer from Peoplesoft regarding this issue. Their answer, which
I've attached below, confirms my experience that TAX911FD will
correctly span multiple diskettes with W2 data. Here's the answer
that they sent to me from their Master Resolution database:

=> QUESTION:
Please provide some clarification on TAX911FD.SQR and multiple
volumes. Page 7-5 of the 1998 Year-End Payroll Processing
Training Guide, Reporting W-2s on Diskette with TAX911FD seems
to indicate that this SQR should only be used if the entrie tape
output file will be on a SINGLE diskette, as this program currently
will not divide the output file into multi-volume data sets.
ANSWER:
Referring to page 7-5 of the 1998 Year-End Payroll Processing
Training Guide, Reporting W-2s on Diskette with TAX911FD. The
information in this guide is incorrect and needs to be updated for
next year. The statement about it being used 'only if customers
plan to submit the entrie tape output file on a single diskette, as
this proram currently will not divide the output file into multi-volume
data sets.' is not correct as of 7/98.
