Embedding Version Numbers in .SQT files

Does anyone know how to embed a report's version number within a .sqt
file so that it may be viewed in the properties dialog window?

We use Visual SourceSafe to version control our SQR source code.  The
number of the report's version is assigned to a variable within the
source code and printed on the first page of the report; e.g.,
02.04.01.01.   We would like to have this same number in the .sqt file
so that by using the Explorer Tool one could right-click on the file
name, click on Properties and then click on the Version tab in the
displayed dialog window.  Try this with .dll files to see an example.

Or, is it possible to see an assigned version number in a .sqt file from
within DOS or UNIX?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
