Re: SQR for ODBC connectivity



I agree with Wayne about the ODBC Spy.  A very nice product.  If you can't
find that, you can turn on ODBC tracing from the ODBC manager and wade
through all of the API calls...not a pretty sight.

If you have an extra 100 dollars and this is a one time transfer between
systems, I would try Microsoft Access.  We have done our entire legacy to
PeopleSoft conversion using Access.  Good response time, user friendly, a
few quircks, but much more managable then SQR.

I examined some ODBC problems generated from SQR workbench a while ago and
wasn't real impressed.  If I had to do it, I would either choose a more ODBC
friendly product or download to a flat file, then use SQR to apply to the
data base.
