Re: SQR Viewer "translates" fonts

Todd-

Thanks for replying. We are using PeopleSoft, but have already applied the fix
to which you refer. I was, in fact, recoding benefits enrollment and
confirmation statements to use declare-layout and declare-printer when I
discovered the problem with SQR Viewer. Any other suggestions?

Danielle,
If you are a PeopleSoft customer you may be interested in their posted
fix:
Report ID: T-RWILLIAM-W277M
Summary: Fix SETUPXX.SQC(s) to send consistent output to
Printer(LP,PS,HP) and SQR Viewer

PeopleSoft used the original SQR syntax to setup print characteristics
(old PRINTER-INIT versus newer DECLARE-PRINTER). This fix brings the
setup routines up to date for the SQR Viewer program to work
correctly. Unfortunately, some of the SQR programs also contain the
older syntax and cannot use new SETUPxx.SQC's until they are updated
as well. Check out the fix for details.

You may also consider using a Postscript viewer or PCL viewer program.
Several of these are being marketed. They can provide an accurate
view from the *.lis file. However they do not provide the printer
independence of the *.spf output.

Hope this helps,
Todd Sneeringer
