PCL to Postscript

Sorry if you received double posting of this. I am trying to change one of our SQR's from priducing PCL output to Postscript. The PCL I have included does a gray-bar overlay and also sends codes for duplex printing.  Are there commands for doing gray-bar overlays in postscript? And is all that I need to do is to  then define the printer as PS, and then use print-direct command, or is that different from the print code-printer:ps command?
