Re: Asset Management - Depreciation Problem

Shibu,

I was an Asset Management end user for a couple years (versions 5.12 and
6.0) and now handle tech support for that group. It sounds to me like your
Operator Preferences are set up differently between the two databases.
Check under the "Define General Options" group and go to Use E-P then look
at Operator Preferences. Once there click on the Asset Management tab (I'm
assuming things haven't changed in version 7.01 that much and it is still
listed there). Look at Open Transaction Processing and ensure "Process
Later" is selected. It sounds to me like the setup you have may be set to
"Now on Server", which would run AMDPCALC as soon as you save the asset.
Hope this helps.

By the way, I agree with Tony, AMDPCALC is a real dog.

Thanks,
Russ
