There's an interactive mode? I didn't know that - that's how much of
a neophyte I am at this. They showed me a report and said "We need something
sort of, but not quite, this report." I flogged my way through the
shell scripts that pass for a menu system (and there's a nightmare - options
labeled 1 through 10, but the case statement tests for 10, 8, 9, 1, 4, 5, 2,
3, 6 and 7 - in that order!!) until I found the one they referred to, and
found calls to this sqr thing, and found that the report file was source
code. I'll tell you, if I ever happen to meet the twisted mind that wrote
this stuff, he's not going to be happy!

At any rate, I finished up the report a little while ago and reported my
success to the client. I have about a half-dozen helpful folks on this
list to thank!
