Printing a LIS file - Can the SPF file be avoided ?
- Subject: Printing a LIS file - Can the SPF file be avoided ?

Environment Particulars
DB : Oracle
OS : Windows NT 4.0
SQRW Version : 3.0.12.1
Application : CSS HRizon 7.01C
I run a program whose purpose is to create a file with information
pertaining to employees. The end result of this program/report is an LIS
file.
However, when my program is running, an SPF file is created and when the
run is supposedly complete, it is as if the SQR converts the SPF file
to an LIS file.
I say "supposedly complete" because I have date displays that tell the
user when the program is complete. Though the final date statement is
executed, a good 6 or 7 minutes elapses before the user is able to close
the SQRW window because the window gives the user an indication if an
SQR is complete or not.
The SQR uses "setup.sqc" and "setenv.sqc" include files to define the
paper size and the environment size, respectively.
I am interested in finding out if I can avoid the SPF file from being
generated so that the user doesn't have to wait twice as long for the
report to complete running.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
in advance.
Sincerely,
Krishnan
