Re: sqr vs crystal
Hello Satnam,
I just finished some development in PeopleSoft Financials - AR,AM,AP
and GL. I had to rewrite the delivered statement process from scratch to
meet the client's needs - the delivered version had a simple SQR Build
process that created a temp table than the Print Process was a
Crystal/Query report - it has very limited capabilities - it just prints
item activity (continuously until the item is closed) and some half-ass
aging totals. We needed to create Beginning/Ending Balances, Suppress
Items from showing up on a statement more than once, Parse/Accumulate
various transaction elements in User fields and place on statement,
Ability to reproduce statements for a customer(s), etc.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with SQR - Ever!!! Maybe the folks at
the Crystal Reports User Group would think differently!

PS - Sometime after development was completed the client decided to go
with Xerox "intelligent" printers. Modifications using Control Codes and
JDT (Job Description Tickets) were made easily in SQR - With Crystal it
would be a big problem!!! Multiple Forms were used at various levels -
Recaps, Individual Summaries and Detail, etc.....
