Thanks for your response, but unfortunately I don't get the user input via
terminal, I get inputs via reading from a temp parameter storing table.

language reference manual; use type = date.

Hi!
I am current using SQR version 4.0. Is there a IsDate() function that
can validate the user input as a validate date data entry? Or have any
one of you developed a subroutine that can validate a valid date data
entry? and this function is independent of the database server.
