Performance issues with Sybase-Unix-SQR

 I am working on a team implementing  PeopleSoft HRMS,Payroll,
 & BenAdmin (v7.1 Tools 7.02) project. I have questions on what
others are doing to tune the running of processes on the server. I have
SQRs running on the client faster than the server!  I know there is
something wrong somewhere!  We have SQR 3.0.18.1Sybase 11.9.1
and HP Unix 10.2,HP- 9000. The Unix and Sybase area are not that
experienced,
 so I am trying to find out any "tips/hints/how-to's"  that will help out.
