I'm doing a dot-matrix version of PeopleSoft's Direct Deposit Advice at the moment. It's printed on security paper, ie the black squiggly lines on the front with impact sensitive paper sealed underneath.
As far as I can tell you're pretty limited in what you can do. SQR ignores graphics command like "box" and even "bold" for line printers and I haven't been able to get any font manipulations to work either. The only special effects I've been able to get were using "printer-init <15>" to turn on condensed printing, and "encode '<27><69>' into $bold_on" and then printing the $bold_on variable to enable bolding. I think though that some of these limitations might be due to the printing style the original program was written in, ie I know there is an old way and a new way and some of the commands are not compatible with each other.
Personally I would've much preferred they stayed with the original (much better looking) laser printed version of the Pay Advice, but they didn't want to have to fold them and put them in envelopes ("users"......we'd be better off without 'em I reckon).

Hello,
Is anyone out there printing SQRs on a dot matrix printer?
I've gotten a mandatory requirement to be able to print on multi-part
Forms and I was wondering if anyone has already been down
This path.
Thanks for your time.
