Title: PeopleSoft placing output in /var/tmp Title: SQR did not generate a list file.
Situation: During Enterprise testing Student Administration PeopleSoft
version 7.0 the CCLTRGEN.SQR was processed
with simulated data the following files *.ltr were placed in a UNIX
directory /var/tmp. The process scheduler
output destination was /reports/sa/ .
Question: Why is the CCLTRGEN.SQR placing output files in the UNIX
directory /var/tmp when the
process scheduler output destination is set to /reports/sa/
Enclosed: Screen prints, UNIX file locations, SQR.LOG file.
This was in the /var/tmp on the St. Croix Server (UNIX) Highlighted in Blue are the *.ltr files (output).

Theses Files appeared to be the output of previous CCLTRGEN.SQR output. Note the Directory /var/tmp
At this point running the system created the following error
I cleared the CACHE files of the work station rebooted this error did not appear again.
UNIX is placing the output of CCLTRGEN.SQR in the UNIX St. Croix Root directory /var/tmp
Admissions will be running hundreds of output files, therefore the
Environment settings either with the server PeopleSoft settings are off
Or the UNIX Environment settings are off. Additionally we need
To discuss UNIX Directory structure for Production UNIX directories.
Example:
/reports/sa/ccltrgen/
/reports/sa/eos/
/reports/sa/eot/
/reports/sa/anyname of sqr report if frequent.
Etc……….
Currently the /reports/sa/ directory is there, however when certain SQRs are ran the output being arbitrarily placed in /var/tmp could waste considerable time and energy at the University of Minnesota.
Recommend UNIX file structure review and Production OUTPUT meeting to determine the impact on SQRs being delivered to Production Services.
