Dynamically Setting #DEFINE Variables

Anyone got any ideas on setting a #DEFINE to a dynamic value.  Ideally I

would want to do something like #DEFINE LOG_DIR=getenv('logdir'), but
I'll take any trick or workaround that could achieve the same effect.

To give some context, we're a PeopleSoft shop and I'm trying to set the
FILEPREFIX substitution variable (defined in SETENV.SQC) to a directory
based on database name so we can safely segregate output files.
