Hi Colin,
I use a program called Monarch which will read PRN, LIS , TXT and other
formats and convert them into many other formats such as Excel, CSV, TXT
files.  Nice package which will hold onto your parsing that came be reused
with each new LIS generation.   Check them out at www.datawatch.com.
