You are asking for an EXCEL-file created by SQR.
We have for a number of years used a "psuedo-xls" format, thats
actually a tab-separated ASCII file given a name such as foo.xls
Every line ends with CRLF. Just open in EXCEL and say OK to most
questions. The user may then format the sheet for best column-fit.

If you want a nicer method try this one:
SQR produces a text file where each row contains:
<row number><tab><column number><tab><actual text><tab>
<font name><tab><font size>

That file will then be read into EXCEL via a simple macro(VBA)
reading every SQR-line and producing a nice EXCEL-sheet,
(no graphichs, no formulas of course).

SYLK-format is another possible format, I have never used it....
