Are the control characters something that you only wish
to go to a certain type of printer? If so, you can use
PRINT-DIRECT PRINTER=HP $my_control_characters (for example)
to cause the control characters to be placed in the
..spf file but not displayed by the viewer. In this example,
the characters would only be written to the .lis file, and
only if -printer:hp were specificed.
Is this what you're looking for?
