Re: Converting SPF files to BMP/PCX?

Dean,

Another approach which I just came across may work for you.
There is an internet FAX service (free, but don't abuse it)
which allows you to send a FAX via e-mail which is then
delivered via FAX by an ISP in the local calling area of
the destination fax machine. You save money on long
distance charges, AND it looks like it accepts postscript
messages. For more information, see:

   http://www.tpc.int/

The only drawback is that not all areas are covered (yet),
but most metropolitan areas are. If you're faxing to
company offices around the country, this might work for
you.

The way this would work with SQR, is that you'd specify
-printer:ps to generate the postscript output file, which you'd then
send as MIME type "application/postscript" to an email
address that looks like this:

   remote-printer.Recipient_Name@12015551234.iddd.tpc.int

where Recipient_Name is the name of the person you're sending
the fax to, and 12015551234 is the US phone number of the
fax machine. International numbers are also possible.
The service includes extensive support to confirm that the fax
was delivered (or not).

Visit the tpc site to get the full scoop, and then try sending
a sample postscript file to someone you know and see if you get
the results you're looking for. If the phone numbers you're
targeting are covered (or mostly covered), you may be in business.
