There are a few ways to tell,
You can check the $SQR-Platform variable, this contains the OS name (UNIX, DOS, WINDOWS, WINDOWS-NT, MVS, VMS, VM)
Or there are also substitution variable defined for the operating system as well that can be used with the pre-compiler #IFDEF/#IFNDEF commands, a few I know of are UNIX, DOSOS2, NT, MVS, VMS, VM)
