I think Acrobat Distiller does the same thing with landscape pages
(rotates them sideways).  I'm curious about the truncation problem.
I don't know Ghostscript well enough, but did you tell it to use
a different paper size also?

If you don't have Distiller, I'd be happy to run a test file
through our copy when I get a chance.  Or, you can get a copy of
Distiller for about $185 from PCZone or one of the other mail
order houses.

I'm hoping that someday we'll be able to say "-printer:pdf".
