Re: SQR & .pdf formatting

We use Adobe's Acrobat Distiller to convert the .ps files from SQR
into .pdf files. One of the "fixes" in Acrobat Distiller 3.0 is that
it now recognizes landscape pages and converts them so that they
display correctly (i.e., not sideways). While Distiller works fine
with landscape MSWord documents, I couldn't get Distiller to correctly
recognize the landscape output from SQR - it still appeared sideways.
I contacted Adobe about this, and they said it may be something in
the way the SQR files are written that is triggering a different
response in Distiller.

Adobe also sells a product called Acrobat Exchange (actually, both
Distiller and Exchange are part of Adobe Acrobat). Acrobat Exchange
is an Acrobat viewer that lets you modify .pdf documents, and if you
open the .pdf file in Adobe Exchange, you can rotate it and save it in
the correct orientation.

Subject: SQR & .pdf formatting

Using a suggestion from this listserver, I am using Ghostscript to
convert
.ps files created by SQR into .pdf format for use with the Acrobat
Reader.
However, I can not seem to format the page for landscape mode reports
-
they appear sideways in the gsview and Acrobat Reader (which makes
for
difficult reading!). I tried reformatting the page size (switching
lines
and columns sizes) in SQR and creating the output file in portrait
mode,
but the output ends up being truncated. Also, the define-printer
section
in SQR is unreadable by Ghostscript altogether so you have to use the
old
"define <space> printer which does not help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
