print trailing spaces

We have an SQR report that creates a flat file.  This file is supposed
to have a trailing space at the end of each line.  Under version 2.27
this worked fine.  The command we were using is:

print ' '             (,,1)

We are now running V3.0.5.  This is stripping all trailing spaces.  I
have tried changing page-size, using max-columns, printing multiple
spaces and using a #DEFINE.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
