If you have access to the book "The AWK Programming Language" by
Alfred V. Aho, Brian W. Kernighan, and Peter J. Weinberger [Addison-
Wesley, 1988], section 3.1, page 75 contains an awk script to
convert money to words for a check-writing application. I would
expect the algorithm could be converted to other languages if desired.
