I don't think SQR has any font metric information so I don't think
it's capable of directly centering proportional text. Usually it
comes out close enough. If you're trying to center a particular
string, you can usually adjust it by hand to make it look right.
If you don't know the content of the string you're centering ahead
of time, you may be better off with a fixed font, or just accept
the risk of not-quite centered text.
