Which Version

I am running MS SQL Server V6.5 and am currently using Version 2.5 for SYBase.
I would like to take advantage of some of the features in V3.X, but there does not seem to be a version the we can use.
Various Clients all currently using the DOS version, but would gladly go to the Windows version. The NT Version only talks ODBC and that does not support some of our SQL commands that are inside the reports. We are currently using DB-LIB.
We got the SYbase version and that requires the Sybase Open-Client software, which we don't have, and probably can't get for MS SQL Server connections.
Anyone else out there in the same spot as me and/or offer any suggestions and/or recommendations.
thanks
