Re: [sqr-users] searching for a string in pdf file

First option:

I have used similar technique to convert excel spread to ascii file then load
them into tables.

Using ADOBE writer you can export the .pdf into many different file format.
you can export the pdf to a ascii file.

If adobe doesnt suppport command line option then you can try many softwares
that can convert PDF to txt files via command line.

Second option:
I dont think its possible and I havent done this myself.

Just thinking aloud.

-PRINTER:PD - This command line flag can be used to produce PDF complaint
output file.

This indicates that SQR does know about the Adobe's internal format, unless
adobe uses a universal format similar to SYLK. I am not sure whether this can
be tried.

To answer your question... I think you'd have to open it like any other
text file - and if you ope a pdf file with a text editor, it looks like
below - so I do not think you can search a pdf using sqr, unless you can
find an API into adobe acrobat reader and use a system call...

Please do not take this as a personal attack, but please, if you're going to

use this group, have the courtesy and professionalism to spell out your
words rather than using IM shorthand.

It does not take that muck more time or effort to spell out the words
completely, and you don't end up looking like an idiot who can't spell....
