Ray/Ian,
Are you folks talking about
1. using the Oracle 10g client with an earlier database
2. using an earlier Oracle client but accessing a 10g database
3. both 10g client and db?
We are using sqr6 against a 10g database and a 9i client.
I have had trouble with (and found work-arounds)
union select all - ('string to decimal object conversion errors') -
ended up performing each select separately and merging the results into
an array
had to use different names for the same variable if the variable is used
more than once to fix 'ORA-01008: not all variables bound' errors
string to decimal conversion errors - had to use a nvl around some
columns that did not require a nvl on an earlier database.
None of the above were a problem with a 9i database.
Not all of the above applies to all sqr reports we have where there are
union selects etc.
Mostly the reports could be run from sqrw OK, but not as sqrt (compiled)
where we got the errors.
which means they compiled OK
Cheers
KIM
