Yes, in SQR 6.x, 30 characters is the upper limit for the following 
barcodes ...
   3 of 9 (code 39)
   Extended 3 of 9
   Interleaved 2 of 5
   Code 128
   Codabar
   MSI Plessey
   Code 93
   Extended 93
   HIBC

these limits were raised to 100 in sqr 8.2
