[sqr-users] Selecting CLOB rows in db2

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for selecting a CLOB row from a
db2 database.  I have searched the archives and it seems most solutions
are Oracle-dependent, and selecting using the substr function isn't
working (i.e. begin-select substr(CLOB_row,1,100) from table
end-select).   I am using db2 v. 7 and SQR v. 8.3.
