Try the following to make running SQR's in Unix easier:
(1) edit you .profile with an alias
(2) create a shell script to receive the SQR pgm name as an argument
Then it's just a matter of typing one or two words from the command line to run
a pgm.

Thank you for your reply. Where would obtain an SQRW license? And, I would br
gratefull if you could reply back with an example of executing an SQR from the
command line in UNIX. You would need to specify all of the neccessay
arguments/system parms that the exucution would require to run the SQR. Yes or
no?

SQR programs are always text files, unless compiled to an SQT. If
they do not own an SQRW license, then you would have to get one.
I usually run SQR from the command line in UNIX, if you think that is
ugly, try running SQR on MVS.
