Hi Steve
The specs of the equipment will have to remain a secret so as not to embarass
anyone.
Let's just say if I found the PC box on the street I wouldnt bother to pick it
up.
The good news is the newer hardware that is in the works will let us upgrade to
oracle 8i
and windows 2000 as opposed to oracle 8.06 and linux 5.2.
Unfortunately the APPEND hint and batching commits did not make a big
difference in
performance so I will try an array in SQR to hold the temporary data.
