Use the "-rs" flag to compile an sqr without executing it.  
"sqr -rs abc.sqr uname/pwd"
This will create a .sqt file.  This is the executable.  Delete it if you
don't plan to run an executable.  Another words, if you plan to execute
the sqr by compiling on the fly, delete the .sqt file.

       I don't think there is any stand-alone compiler for SQR.
       May be you can,
       Include the STDAPI-INIT and STDAPI-TERM procedures in the program
from prcsapi.sqc.
       Then even on successful compilation of the code, the SQRW prompts
for the database name and process instance number.
       Then, you can abort the execution by clicking on the close
button.

I want to compile a sqr for any syntax errors etc without actually
executing the program.
I dont want the program to execute as it has lot of database truncates
and updates.
I just need a way to compile the sqr.
Any ideas?
