RE: [sqr-users] Easy Questions: flags, SQRW.EXE, SQT

All,
2) Originally there were two executables under the Windows environment ...
sqr - a command line based interface similar to that found under Unix, DOS,
VMS, etc. and sqrw - a GUI based interface. When the command line interface
was dropped from the Windows distribution the thought was not to mess with
customer scripts. What does it matter what the name of the executable it
away? Look at Microsoft Word ... why is it called WINWORD.EXE rather than
just WORD.EXE?
3) The T is for "SQR Execute" or "SQR Runtime" depending on the company.
Originally SQR could be packaged as a complete package or just the runtime
component which allowed people to run reports (.SQT) but able to create them
from the source (.SQR). Great for turnkey systems and configuration
control. SQRWT.EXE is not an alias for "SQRW -RT" but rather a complete
executable in itself. It accepts a subset of the command line flags that
SQRW.EXE accepts.
