You are right we can rename to .xls when we open CSV file in Excel, but here my
requirement is different..let me explain you what we are doing exactly.
We are scheduling sqr reports on one scheduler and keeping pdf,csv outputs in
brio repositories. For users access we created a EIS Bqy, this bqy is allows
access users to pre- runned pdf and csv files from repository. So why i need
.xls file ??? Brio EIS section i can format .xls file, but i can't format .csv
file.
Here we are generating 100's of csv files , there is no chance to change .csv
to .xls because everything is automated.
Schedule SQR Reports --> After run (Sits out put in Brio Repository) -->
Browser(User access reports via EIS Interface or DashBoard).
I hope you understand when we export data into .CSV file
1) When file open -- its open in Notepad until we setup path to excel(select
file open with Excel, atleast one time)
2) Column length not fit into cell width and can't format bold etc., things.
Brio Designer we can format .XLS file using JOOLE Script.
I hope now you understand my problem.....thanks for your reply.

Excel will open it as an excel sheet even if it's only a comma delimited
file

export data into .xls file. Please advice me.
