You can't send the output to a local directory, but I believe 8.8 Tools allows
the user to select "Window" as output which opens the output automatically -
much like the old way we told SQR to open the SQRVW.exe program in the old
days. The key is to have the output type something general such as pdf instead
of spf where the user would need the app installed locally.

I am working as an SQR developer in the PeopleSoft 8.8 environment, the last
time I worked with PeopleSoft was 4 years ago using version 7.5. A lot has
changed in the process scheduler, including the use of Report
Manager. When I worked with PS 7.5 I typically generated .SPF files that would
be stored on my local computer and displayed upon completion of the report, of
course that was before PeopleSoft was a WEB based
product.
Can anyone advise me as to the best way to set up Process Request for
developing and testing reports. Is it still possible to have the output sent
to a local directory and be viewed upon completion? Does one still do the
report development using SQRW and then attach it to the PS app once it has been
tested. If so what command line flags are recommended
to ensure smoothest transition once you are ready to attach to the appropriate
PS page.
Can anyone recommend a book that would have information about the differences
between developing (and running) reports in version 8.x and 7.x?
