Jeff,

I don't know if it's still out there, but I came across a product
that included a number of user defined functions that provided access
to a bit of the Windows API.  It think it was called SQR Windows.
Of course, this only works if you're running SQR on the desktop.

I just did a bit of googling and was unable to turn up any 
references to the library.  The basic idea is that someone wrote a
collection of user defined functions (ufuncs) for SQR that serve
as a bridge to the Windows API.  They then distribute this as a 
modified version of SQR to the desktop.  You'd need a MS C compiler
and some Windows programming know-how if you wanted to reproduce
this effort.
