Is it possible to create a menu system using an input statement?

What I am wondering is can you in any way modify the input dialog box to
give a menu option instead of just text saying input $text 'Enter blah, blah
blah, ex:  1 - HR, 2 - JOB, etc..'

What I would like to do is have it such as this.

1 - Hr
2 - Job
3 - Benefits

Instead of in a regular text sentence.

Hope this makes sense.
